Marine life, identified by AI.
A demo video for a featured innovator who won the 2025 Japan SDGs Innovation Challenge and is now building an AI model that identifies marine life in underwater footage. We told the story from the first idea to the working prototype.
Interactive reefs, open to everyone.
This project highlights the journey of a featured innovator partner who emerged as a challenge winner and has since advanced to developing an AI model for underwater marine identification. In the final prototype, interactive call-outs appear while people watch marine footage, with information on the species and more.
The goal is to make interactive underwater experiences more accessible, supporting tourism, education and marine conservation.
From first idea to working prototype.
The video was made for a presentation in November to showcase the proposed development work. It follows the project from its inception and first innovation to the current stage, where cutting-edge AI is being applied to real-world challenges.
